(Post theme: Summertime by Brother Love)

Last time: Lewis Road Creamery Boysenberry Cheesecake, this time Aroha Coe’s Cloudy Lemonade.

330ml glass bottle. A good start, and the same format as the Aroha Sparkling Feijoa I had earlier in the year. I ordered this one online; I haven’t seen it in a cafe, service station, or supermarket. Rural post once again did the job without any fuss.

I hadn’t heard of cloudy lemonade before last year, and the first time I had one it was alcoholic (I don’t remember the brand). This tastes exactly like my memory of that, which, unfortunately, tricks my brain into thinking this is alcoholic too. I’ve had a few (you can’t just order one) and every time it feels like I’m drinking alcohol, even though there is no alcohol taste (to my memory, there wasn’t with the alcoholic one, either). That makes it rather hard to judge, but also very specifically a ‘me’ problem.

I’m not sure how cloudy lemonade is meant to differ from regular lemonade (and whether it’s meant to be like American lemonade or what we would call lemonade here). It’s not really sweet, but not overly sour, with a medium carbonation. Very refreshing straight from the fridge.

I’d have it again. Perhaps one day, it’ll just taste like cloudy lemonade to me. 7.5/10.
